I woke up this morning with an urge to go ski the WROD at Northstar.
Anyone else heading there today?
I ended up helping a friend on Saturday and missed heading to Northstar. Will need to continue to help said friend today.
I heard, though, that the open runs were awesome as long as you didn't try to go off piste.
Edit: on second thought, I may try to get up in the afternoon if I can make haste in helping my friend.
The snow on the 3 available runs was pretty good in terms of quality and coverage. Having to do the park/walk/upload and download the gondola to ski adds to the experience while eating away at ski time. Some of the runs were a bit crowded, so there were some times that I felt like a kickoff returner in the NFL following his blocking until there was daylight.
Watch out for the skier's left on Pinball should you venture off to the side. Just to the left of that jump (which looks like it should be fine) is where a series of small trees were chopped and I mangled my bases... this photo was taken right afterwards.
Northstar skied really well yesterday. So much so that I think I'll go back and ski a few hours this morning.
Thanks to Dookey for showing up to keep me entertained on my first day out!
