I heard a veteran from another ski forum advocating selecting ski boots 0.5cm shorter than your foot actually measures. So if you have 27.5cm feet, get 27.0cm boots. I am aware that boot liners pack out over time. So is this standard advice or did this guy just like his boots especially tight?

take a read at the wiki at the top of the forum, it will give you loads of info about shell fit and what to look for, some boots you need the size you measure, some you need one or even 2 shell sizes down depending on how much performance you are looking for/how long the shell runs
