Birds of Prey: Can you attend as Epicski's Media Representative?

Beaver Creek will be hosting the Birds of Prey event this year.  We would like to have a credentialed media representative to cover the event and provide a news feed. If you are available to attend the event and provide enough time to report on the preparations, races and events surrounding the event, Epicski will attempt to secure Media Credentials that will give you access to the race course, interviews and other special events.

We don't have an Epicski Ambassador to represent Beaver Creek yet, so if you would like to volunteer to also manage the Resort Pages and reviews for Beaver Creek, we will provide compensation in the form of a supporter subscription and some other benefits as well in return for being part of the Epicski Editorial Staff.

Here are the significant dates.  Please contact me by PM or post in this thread if you can help.

No offense but this is a bit too much to promise ;) Restrictions for course access are quite high, so to be honest, I doubt it will be so easy to arrange that one ;) There are some TV commentators/camera crews which get course access, but number is really low, and in general it's restricted to only stations which do live coverage. I never saw any written press on course yet (both TV and written press are allowed on course only during inspection and not during race), and photographers are limited to maximum 40. So without being on photographers FIS priority list, there's really small chance you will get course access. Next to those, there's no other option to be on course as press/media. Access to mixed area, press center etc. is different, and is normally no problem to arrange, even though it's a bit late to start arranging these things now ;)
And one more thing... Personally I really hate this kind of things. I have nothing against someone trying to be journalist, but problem is, that this is not some local race. It's WC, where security, safety and certain procedures play their role. When someone without any idea how to behave in such situation comes there, there's pretty good chance he or she will screw up something. In first case, his/her accreditation is gone, and I don't really care about that. Second, media outlet requesting accreditation can have problems (also monetary) because of that. And no, I don't really care about that either. The thing I do care about is, rest of us will have problems in future because of things like this. For organizers and FIS officials we are there as group. Not as one by one, but as group. When one person do something wrong, normally all of us carry consequences. And with more shit things like that, more problems we have with our work. And for some of us, this is not fun, but daily job, which brings us, and our families, money to buy bread and milk every day. And that's why I care about those things, more then someone might think I should care about.

No promises were made.  Epicski is a legitimate online media outlet and we are interested in improving that.  It is very likely we may not get premium access, but as I said, we will attempt to secure media credentials that may give you access you otherwise might not get.

Ideally, it would be nice to see if a person who is already a season pass-holder or very involved at BC, and willing to do an article/ blog, is interested in trying this.  So far, no one has stepped forward.  We'll continue to look for similar opportunities to bring content with some broad interest and punch to the site.

Just for next year's planning, there is also the women's race this coming week at Aspen. I for one am equally interested in the women's races and the men's.

Our objectives to situate members as media representatives at events goes beyond Birds of Prey.  If you are aware of any event and would like to cover it, just let us know about it far enough in advance that we can try to obtain media credentials.  I would like to expand content beyond forums and incorporate legitimate publishing as part of our content.

It appears Bob Barnes may be available to cover Birds of Prey, or parts of it.  He has fantastic credentials as a photographer and writer, and this could be an exciting event to follow through his lens and keyboard.
