Sugar and Cataloochee already have their WRODs open.  Giant cold front with some snow is hitting us tonight.  Things look pretty good for Thanksgiving weekend (or sooner).  I shall shoot for Thanksgiving Saturday or Sunday with turkey sandwiches packed to ski somewhere.  Chime in if you're heading up and we'll keep an eye out for eachother and possibly hook up for some turns.

Have a great year everyone.  I won't be out much this season, kid is taking a shot at a basketball league so most of my weekends are booked.

I will get out some and might bring a kid or two with me.

I'll be in Alabama Thanksgiving weekend, but hope to bring my kids up as soon as we can!

Hoping for some cold weather to fatten up the base coverages locally.  I have the nod to take Wednesday off and head up if the weather will cooperate.  So far, Sugar looks to be the best within reach.  Cataloochee is a bit far of a one day trip for me.

Snow conditions are currently non existent but were in luck, Cold air is here for the next several days.  We're till shooting for with White Ribbon of Death skiing Wednesday the 14th.  Looks  like Old Boot and possibly Lady Salina are in so far.  .. assuming someplace is actually skiable

Still have a green light to cut work Wednesday and head to higher ground for a few hours.  Upper and Lower Shawneeshaw look open at Beech.  Switchback and the flying miles are open at Sugar.  We'll see what holds best tomorrow.

Beech has $30.00 lift tickets this week.  Still open at the top this morning.  So far that is my preferred destination.

Well, morning was pretty decent for one top to bottom trail and afternoon was just pretty sunshine melting what was left of the snow.  This is the first time in my life skiing corn snow in December.  I doubt the top of either Sugar or Beech will be open this weekend.  It was barely skiable when I left at 12:30 today.

Sorry to hear that.  I hope that can build up some base this week!

Looks like I'll be able to get out to Sugar on Tuesday.  3" of fresh = NC bottomless powder?

Mnut got 4 inches of snow late Sun, but up to 50 again today.  Decent coverage on all open slopes, but be surprised if they make it past the first weekend of March.  It was practically slush by lunch time on Fri and Sat.  We had family flying home from Raleigh on Sun evening, so drove home Sun morning.  Just made it before the snow started sticking to the southern VA roadways.  Was snowing hard in Lynchburg at lunchtime.  We passed three pretty bad accidents on the way out of town on US29.
