Have Our Reviews Gone Viral? - Page 8

fun thread

interesting points, and worth the 0 & 1s used so far

TC, SJ, Phil, Dawg & other shop shills (& quasi-independent others) - you're all 'good', keep the reviews comin...

I try to demo when I can, but can't hit as many as youz...

interpreting what a reviewer writes is the fun part.

I'm with Finndog, there prolly aren;t any BAD skis anymore - least not like Graves, Olin MK IVs, or THE Ski...  duck.gif

and they weren;t bad, just misdirected in their youth...

viral marketing? is that like the pet rock thang ?  or Cabbage Patch kids, or Beannie Babies ???

nah, never happen in skis...

Will do........I have a stack of stuff to start posting up in the next few daze, starting with the "Crazy 88's 2012"

I rather doubt that any of us are planning to change anything about what we do.

Well, perhaps some of us are ready to be infected.

Now have a look at this: http://www.pnas.org/content/109/1/68.abstract including http://www.pnas.org/content/suppl/2011/12/14/1109739109.DCSupplemental/pnas.201109739SI.pdf
and  see if you think Epic reviews are viral in the sense of social discovery of new product...or simply a really reliable tool for "individual" discovery of new product  /for people who do not really belong within Epicski's 'socialness'/.

For those who can't be bothered to read the study, there is a cutesy poo writeup here: http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/health/2012/01/17/hipsters-decoded-study-finds-social-logic-of-trends/    Think of it as "Everybody has Bonafides and Kastles, that's the /last/ thing I want to buy, but, hey, my wife doesn't post here so I'll buy them for her" mentality.
