Are these twin tips too long for an ex-racer?

Thread Starter

I just picked up a pair of 07/08 Scratch BC Girl @ 160cm for my 15yo daughter.

She has been racing for a while and is now wanting to try out freestyle. She is at about 5' (152.4cm) and weighs around 120lbs. As a second year J3 last season, she skied on 171 GS (and a much longer SG). She is an all around strong skier and can take on any terrain.

So, the question to the forum is: will these new skis be too long for her in trees, park and powder? The charts say yes based on her weight but as you can see they measure quite a bit longer than her height.

Thanks in advance!

With your description of her skiing ability, I'd say thats a fine selection for her.

Those will be great skis for her. My son skied the junior version of those for a few years and The Dad's kid still skis them some days. Plus they aren't the usual floppy pieces of crap that many twin tip jibber skis are.
