How old are your boots? - Page 5

My Salomon SX 92 Equipe boots, the white ones, are 26 years old and I will not willingly give them up.

Comfort and control wins out for me. I had hoped that my 90 Equipes would see me out but the shell failed. I tried modern 4 clips boots but it was a good day when I found my current boots on Craigslist.

I tried a pair of those... 4 days... Went back to the Langes. I would have quit skiing if the SX (we called them 'sucks') 92 where the only option available. smile.gif But glad your mileage has varied! Whatever keeps you looking forward to getting on the hill is good! smile.gif

I demoed a pair of those SX boots.  For me the SX 9? (can't recall what the 2nd digit was)  Equipe boot with the cable system kept trying to change the shape of my feet; Instead trying to make the boot fit my foot, it was trying to make my foot fit the boot, so I passed.

Re the SX 92s I am a big guy with big feet and at 67 still have high arches. The 355 SXs fit my feet so well that I have excellent ski control at speed on the old style skinny 205s which I like. and most importantly I can ski all day and my feet don't hurt.

Maybe If I found the right 4 clip boot and the right boot fitter things would be different but I spent time and money and all I got was pain without control. I was close to giving up skiing.
