Everyone needs one--- a Tim Tebow thread!! - Page 6

It's too bad pro football player is a job that doesn't leave much opportunity for recreational skiing. The locations of Tebow's last three teams offered good access to skiing:-)

Rex Ryan's response when asked if he was curious how Bill would use Tebow: "Not really. Nope. If they want to replace Brady with him, that's fine." You've gotta love Rex's quotes. I wouldn't want him as a head coach of a team I like, but I love his comments to the media.

Rex will look like a fool after Belichick puts him to good use.  He may have issues as a QB but the guy definitely has some athletic ability.  Good signing by the Pats.  I'm sure they got him cheap, and he needed to go to a team with a starting QB who is beyond question as the man.

The Jets will play the Patriots in week 2. There are Jets fans actually rooting for Tebow to throw a touchdown they're so sick of the Jets' boondoggle.
Apparently it's a two year contract with no guaranteed money. No details yet.
Mr. B - worlds most boring press conferences. I guess if Tebow has any chance at all in the NFL this will make it or break it.

Ya I was rooting for him to go to Pittsburgh year before the Jests took him off the market; he would have been, imo a much better backup than Batch or Leftwich.

Predictions that Tebow would canvas the City handing out flowers to combat scurge never materialized.

Hey Tog!

I know when to quit when I'm ahead! I've still got to believe that Belichick has always had a plan for him, and I don't believe that it's to have him sit around as an emergency quarterback. His quarterback fundamentals are horrible but there's no denying that he is a workaholic physical specimen and the dude is a football player. I hope they intend to use him in some kind of regular fashion because it will just be flat out fascinating.

He also has as many playoff victories as Matt Ryan.  wink.gif

This is kind of exciting, except I really don't like the Patriots. But it will be fun to see what the Hoodie does with Tebow. This just has "entertainment" written all over it.

I wasn't aware New England had a roster spot for team chaplain.

Hey Ken!

Interesting tidbits heard on Colin Cowherd's show today.

David Fleming of Espn magazine was on talking about scouts' views of Tebow. Serious problem learning plays - besides the throwing problems.

From Fleming's article:

No prayer:

How the mania made Tim Tebow too toxic to talk about -- or to hire

[guess he was wrong about the hire part..]

When the Broncos defense was on the field, offensive coaches would often tell Tebow the first series of plays they wanted to run when the team got the ball back. Tebow would nod, and they'd separate. And then, invariably, a short while later he'd ask for the information again. Sometimes this ritual would repeat right up until Tebow had to duck into the huddle and call the play. As a result, despite starting only 11 games in 2011, Tebow was flagged for delay of game an NFL-high seven times. Worse still was the fact that, according to scouts, Tebow almost never audibled because he struggled to quickly and properly read defenses. And of all the deadly sins Tebow committed against quarterbacking, this was the worst: lacking the self-awareness to recognize and fix these shortcomings. Maybe the most shocking part of Tebowmania isn't that he has been cast out of the NFL after just three years but that he lasted as long as he did.

On the radio show:

"the bigger issue is he struggles to learn offenses.... It's catastrophic...People have nothing good to say about him as a quarterback or quarterback prospect.."

http://espn.go.com/espnradio/play?id=9380058&s=espn

I think the whole Patriots thing for Bellicheck is like Star Wars. Mr. B just wants Tim to shoot one photon torpedo into the Death Star to take down Rex Ryan. All he has to do is "use the Force".

Amen! But I see it the other way-- Belichick is Palpatine smiling while Tebow takes an inside handoff from a slot set with a tackle trap and plows over a strong safety into the end zone, not yet knowing that he is becoming an agent of Evil.

As far as difficulty learning plays, that was the unspoken rumor on a certain recent Philly quarterback for years... I'm sure that's much more common than teams would like us to believe. I think there's a lot of times coaches just scream "Run Forrest Run" into their headsets.

So, BB decides to move Tebow to TE?  Could he have seen this coming??

Aaron Hernandez taken into custody

They seem to be betting that he will be found guilty.

Pats offer free No. 81 jersey swaps

The first step was obvious: releasing the tight end from his contract. But Robert Kraft and the rest of the New England front office have gone a step further by offering fans an opportunity to exchange their No. 81 Hernandez jerseys at the Patriots ProShop.

Would you bet against it? Have you seen the evidence presented at his arraignment?

That's like betting that the Raiders won't win the Super Bowl this year.  I like those odds.

The police followed the book on this one to make sure nothing could be thrown out or not be admissible. Now they will throw the book at this guy.

He had the best ad! And they could have gotten the crud beat out of them with him at qb too!

Yes but they wouldn't have gotten there with him at qb.
