A lot of it depends on how much you value your skis and your hunger for snow . I bet you that as soon as off-piste runs open, there will be hordes of people on them... core shoot central. I will be most likely keeping my good skis at home for at least another big dump. We really need 6 feet or more to build up a decent base on most runs, some steep places require more, much more. I am wondering whether Silverado will even open this year given that it has literally zero snow.
So, since most of Squaw and Alpine are at zero snow, how many feet to we need to open up most on-piste runs and then to open of the off-piste/steeper areas? I suppose it would depend on the type of snow etc.
Based on what I saw last weekend, we will need 2-3 feet for on-piste and 5+ for the rest. Is that about in the ballpark?
This would mean groomers Saturday, maybe some more Sunday?
It will be interesting skiing compared to last year when everything was so filled in.
