I only wish it was true.

If that really is true - particularly at Stowe - then I need to move.

Out here, it seems like the percentage on any big powder day is 100% of the powder is skied by 99% of the skiers.  frown.gif

Only 99%?  It feels like more here.

The solution of course is backcountry gates. there is some interest in that at Squaw, but it has never been set up that way. what are the obstacles to an area like Squaw, private owned land for the resort surrounded by State Forest, private land, wilderness I think. The passholders assn and Unofficial are solidly behind an open gate policy. can we get it done?

Backcountry gates we got.  It doesn't help.  The powder hogs come and ski out every inch of inbounds and then at around 10:30 they swarm on out the gates to completely shred the close in areas and side country.

Im too old and crotchety to put up with that crap any more.  I've learned to really like crud instead.
