50 Seasons

Opening Day is Almost Here. Are You Ready? We Are!

Team Blizzard, our wicked awesome snowmaking team, recently performed its annual system-wide test as part of our preparations for the upcoming winter ski season. Check out the photos of the test on our Facebook page.

Mad River Mountain's snowmaking system is the largest of its kind in the state of Ohio!   With the ability to pump over 400,000 gallons of water per hour to more than 130 highly efficient snowmaking machines, our team can lay a blanket of pure, white gold quicker than anyone in the Midwest.  As soon as Mother Nature wakes up Old Man Winter, Team Blizzard is ready for action to cover each and every one of our 144 acres with snow!

11/12 Season Passes - Only One Month Left to Save!

Now that our snowmaking system is ready to rock, it's time to think WINTER! Purchase your season pass now to receive a collection of added incentives and save big before we start spinning the lifts. All passes purchased prior to December 1st score the lowest possible rates of the season, plus all Mad River Mountain Anytime season passes come with added value incentives like bonus tickets for friends and families.

Ready to get rolling?  Our office is open Monday - Friday 10am - 4pm, so stop by if you have any questions or give us a call at 800-231-SNOW (7669).  If you're in the area, swing by the mountain to pick up your pass to ensure you're on the hill opening day!

The Art of Flight Premier- Nov 5, 2011

Brace yourself for a new breed of snowboard film as Red Bull Media House, in association with Brain Farm Digital Cinema, and Quiksilver present "The Art of Flight" a Curt Morgan film. Be one of the few that attend this limited screening on November 5, 2011 at the Arena Grand Theatre in Arena District, downtown Columbus, OH. The Art of Flight combines meaningful storytelling and character development with sport progressing action, all captured on state-of-the-art filmmaking equipment, much of which has been custom designed just for this project.

Equal parts stunning action and harrowing adventure mix with the inevitable drama encountered along the way, presenting viewers with an exclusive opportunity to experience these endeavors virtually firsthand. With unprecedented access, the audience will share in the experience as snowboarder Travis Rice, along with a cast of the best riders in the world, complete a two-year quest to redefine what's possible on a snowboard.

"Through the riders' full immersion into the making of this film, we are able to show in the truest way what it is like it for us to travel to some of the most remote places on earth and search out the most dynamic terrain and conditions," says Rice. "Our triumphs and tribulations are conveyed in this darker, more dramatic film. Throughout we walk a fine line between when to keep pushing it and when to pull back."

What: Limited Engagement.  The only screening of RedBull/Quiksilver's Art of Flight in the Columbus area!

When: November 5th - doors at 8pm - screening to start promptly at 8:30pm

Where: Arena Grand Theatre on Nationwide Blvd.

Who: Special thanks to Quiksilver/Red Bull, Aspen Ski & Board Co., Mad River Mountain
(A few lucky guest will score lift tickets to Mad River Mountain!)

Lots of worse places to live that's for sure.....good people here in the Midwest! Skiing not so much but as I always say, I would rather make 30 runs down a short hill than none at all!!!!
