MID-ATLANTIC GTG, T-LINE, WV FEB 10-13, 2012
Several Epicski Get Togethers are already scheduled for this winter, so before calendars fill I thought I better post about the one we are planning in the Mid-Atlantic. We are gathering at Timberline, WV on Feb 10-13, 2012, the weekend before President's Weekend and often very snowy. You are invited to join us at one of the best mountains for advanced skiers in the region with an honest 1000 feet of vertical. We'll probably rent a group house again (4th time). T-line is located in Canaan Valley, also the site of Canaan Valley Alpine Ski Area and Whitegrass Nordic Touring Center (off piste skiing). There are numerous sliding and lodging choices for those who want to do their own thing and join us on the hill for a day or two. We'll have several T-line regulars showing us the best trails, bumps, glades and snow, including Epicski Timberline Ambassador: JOHNL.

We are planning to rent a house that will sleep between 8-14 depending on interest. We have a core of participants, but room for more especially at this early stage. If you have questions or are interesting in joining us please post here or send me a PM over the next month. The size of the house will depend on the number of folks that commit to participate by early Dec. By that time we'll make a reservation and it will be first come, first serve for any remaining slots. The cost will likely be about $125 for each person for three nights slopeside lodging including potluck meals 3x per day. A lot of the overnighters are singles, but we also have couples that take private bedrooms.
The past few years we have gathered at Blue Knob, PA with typically about 2-3 dozen participants including a friendly mix of day trippers and overnighters of varied abilities. There is the likelihood of extending the skiing to include Friday and/or Monday if desired. The age spread of past participants ranged from kids to 70+, originating from NC, VA, MD, WV, PA, DC, etc. As the date approaches we'll share more info about conditions, tickets, directions, etc. Timberline is ~3 hours from Washington, Baltimore, Wheeling, Pittsburgh, and ~4-5 hours from Roanoke, Richmond and Columbus. Here are trip report threads from the last couple of gatherings:
