Caution Horn Blowing: Good Bootfitting and Medical Article Ahead about three Jackson Locals (ME)!

Well, not all about me...  Three Jackson locals get featured.  We're all psyched.

I contacted Bob Peters about this potentially spammy email and he encouraged me to post the link.

I was featured in this great article for the largest print magazine in the Orthotic and Prosthetic Industry.  I started a Ski Boot Fitting school and have been traveling around the West this past fall.  It has been great!  The article, in part, is about that.  Also, a few caveats, what you tell the press and how it gets translated are two different things.  I've found this true over the years.

They printed a funny pic a friend of mine took on a beautiful groomer. Photo Context: I was taunting him that he was working and I was not!

Anyway it is great press and that's always welcome.

Also featured is a great freeskiing webpage earlyups.com.  Patrick Nelson is an excellent skier and you need to check out the link.  I work with him as a mountain bike guide in the summers and have fit his boots over the years.

Stephen Koch has a great lead in.

Thanks for reading!

I did indeed encourage Stephen to post the link.  He's worked hard and built up a very loyal clientele here in Jackson Hole.  Now he's extending expertise around the Rockies a little bit and I think that's great to see.

Congrats on the article, Stephen!

Good article you linked to and even tho' I am hip enough to know a good fit I am going to my boot dude with my new Head Raptor RS to get them dialed.

MY buddies and I talk about this all the time... Ski Boots are cool but Ski Boot fitting is Boring and no one pays any attention to it...

Ski instructors in particular could make big bucks by demanding students get the right fit - and this means snowboarders working in RENTAL SHOPS should not be renting ski boots and that the boot rental guys should actually know what they are doing. This simple act would shave weeks off the learnig curves of beginner and intermediate students resulting in big tips and more repeats.

Horn blowing? Hell yes! Toot toot and all sorts of positive emoticons.

Good press S-in-J, and I imagine it took some doing to get a shot of you on a mellow groomer.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm in Henderson, NV and I pulled off as the Bus doesn't like rain.

Bazzer: You Rock! I want to stay on the Christmas card list! Liberty is going through a pretty intense shark phase. I'd would be great to see some pics!

A pretty intense shark phase? Could be serious. I've been going through one for about 40 years. I'll send some help. Assume you've got the same PO Box, but if not, send me your new snail mail address via PM.

Thanks for posting this!

That's a nice article.  I see Brent Amsbury is mentioned as well.  He gave my friend some awesome advice a while back when there was a question about having one leg longer than the other.

As for Liberty's  Shark Phase, maybe you can send her to visit Bazzer, eh?

Looking forward to a new footbed to go with the Vacuum boots when you come back around the 15th.  I'm waiting for YOU dude!
