Difference in riding between Marker Duke and regular alpine bindings.

Hi guys! I have a pair of K2 obsethed which currently is mounted with some marker dukes, ive never skied this binding before. How noticeable will the gained height of the binding be?

I dont need the tour function on the bindings so im wondering if i should just switch to alpine bindings(i have px12, p18, griffon)

You may notice but its not going to be worth a remount. If you really dont need the tour function you could sell the dukes used to make some money.

In my opinion, the dukes give you a better ride on fat skis while on groomed, I think due to better leverage on the edges. But while in Pow, they can make it feel really weird, alpine bindings are better. If you're not using the tour function then i'd say sell them and buy alpine bindings

You notice the weight more than anything else.

I found this also when I remounted my 96 mm Fischer Misfits/Atua with Dukes and did not notice any issues in powder.

Try them and make your own opinion. If you don't like them you can probably make a switch to a conventional alpine binding for a small cost. Used Dukes in good condition can generally get $250 or more.

The one thing I don't like about Dukes on firmer snow is that the middle of the ski flexes less naturally. On rare occassions, I actually like this, but most of the time, I don't.

^^ This is true, it seems to stiffen the middle of the ski.

Anyone else notice the lack of ramp angle on the Duke/Barons?
