Been narrowing down my choices for an East coast do-it-all kinda ski and decided to go for either the new Dynastar Distorter or the Atomic Theory. What I am looking for out of the ski is to nearly do it all (excluding park). I need a ski that I can lay on edge on east coast groomers without worrying about chatter or sliding out but will still be playful enough to take into the trees and those rare "powder" (aka crud) stashes. I havent had a chance to demo either, but have heard great things about both.
I do realize that the Distorter is intended to be a park ski but what I'm interested in it is it's playfulness. I want to take it away from groomed booters and rails and throw it at bumps, cliffs and high speed drops. I feel that Dynastar's "spring blade" and the stiffness of the ski would make a great combo.
If anyone has ridden either, an input would be greatly appreicated. Thanks in advance.
PS- throwing in a little curve ball, Volkl Bridge...
