Lange R2006/RP compatibility with Zipfit World Cup liners

Hi,

 

I'm getting new boots, the Lange World Cup RP, Lange's plug model, and am interested in getting Zipfit liners with them. I'm looking at the Zipfit World Cup model which I can get at a decent price, but am concerned about the fit with the RP shell. The Zipfit website says they're made for low volume plug/race shells, but are they much thicker than the next model Gara? I've also read that some material can be removed from inside the liners to make them thinner at certain places if needed; could this be considered if the World Cup liners are a bit too thick to fit in the RP shell? So I'm just wondering if any of you have had experience with the Zipfit World Cup liners and plug shells.

Any success (or lack of) would depend upon the amount of space available for that liner. All the Zipfit liners use fairly heavy fabrics and have the inherent achilles heel of the design which is a fairly straight shape from the mid achilles to the base of the heel. This is the challenge of the Zipfit in a very low volume shell when sized in a rather typical 3/8" race fit. OTH the RP 2006 comes with a pretty darned good lace-up flow liner in the first place so I guess the most obvious question is....why bother?

if i was even going to bother trying i would be going with the gara, and even then it would need to be the right foot and probably a whole lot of huffing and puffing to get it in there...... i do have one client who is moving to that boot this year, she will probably be able to het her world cup zip fit into the shell, mind you she has feet that are about as wide as my little finger
