Class of 2012, what's waiting for snow?

Thread Starter

Instead of yet another quiver thread, show us what's brand new, sitting in the corner, tuned, waxed and just waiting for snow biggrin.gif.

Your "Class of 2012"...... please post pix if you can as worthless.gif

I'll get things rolling;

Rossi 4S replicas from 2009 (finally available here). 175cm, 104-65-87, 21m

2012 Rossi Experience 98, 180cm, 139-98-128, 20m

2012 Atomic Theory, 186cm, 132-95-121, 20m

posting pics as soon as the box arrives on the porch and I get the mounting done.

I had an idea for the first big powder day that will work because everyone lines up their skis on the snow at the bottom of the chair to hold their position. I'll take an aligned sequence of shots that shows all the skis in the front section of the line. then we can see everyone's new skis, and make a tally of models.   Hopefully one of our graphic artists can stitch them together if I can't figure out how to do that. It would be a panorama for gear freaks.

quiver

Here's the corner of my apt. on the Northstar access road where my quiver lives and what is living there so far. Eventually, three skis will live here. The residents are not quite decided but will consist of...............

Narrow................A hard snow biased ski probably ~~ 80mm or less. (most likely this will be a Dyn Course Ti in 177)

Medium..............Mixed snow bias in the very competitive 98mm range. (Probably a Blizzi Bonafide 180)

Wide..................Deep snow bias, ~~ 110-115mm wide with some variation of rocker/taper but also with a mind toward stability later in "the day" (thinking Nordica Unleashed Hell/185)

Of course, the most important part is already dialed. The RS 130 is as good a boot as I have ever skied and no need to change this factor.

I believe these came out the the Women's WC molds so they should be a fairly capable hard snow ski  Ott+Wedeln.gif

I have a pair of those on order as well as a pair of Rossi Experience 98's mated to a pair of Marker Griffon Schizoid.

Should make my western trips this year a blast!

'Zoids offer endless possibilities, prolly why I can't get off my obSETHeds to ski the 'Bents.

Did do '10-'11 Blaster Pros last spring, best move from last season for my "old-pro" knees.

Gotta love Lange!

This year I'm sporting a slightly modest quiver. Pictured is most of my active quiver, plus one of my inactive pair of boards

Active, pictured:

-2009 Burton Mayhem 155 w/ Ride LX bindings. For general standing sideways purposes.

-2005 Salomon Foil 166 w/ Salomon 810light bindings. Primarily relegated to teaching/rock ski status this year.

-2010 Dynastar Contact 10 167 w/ Dynastar (Look) PX12 bindings. For those firm days.

-NEW ADDITION! 2009 Salomon Gun 164, currently unmounted. Will be taking over the off piste duties from the Foils.

Also pictured, 2003 Salomon 1080 161's. After painful deliberation, these old faithfuls are being taken out of active service. They'll be donating their 912Ti bindings to the Guns.

Active and not pictured: Axis Warrior 154 Snowboard w/ Rome bindings

Inactive, fate not yet determined: 2003 Atomic GS:9 180 w/ Atomic bindings.

It brings new meaning to the "What can Brown do for you" slogan !

You still owe us a pic of them all mounted, tuned and waxed  biggrin.gif

New 2012 Volkl Mantras with Marker Griffon 13's. Kinda debating if I want to keep them or sell them and get a lazy day ski since I will likely be spending a lot of time teaching my 2 year old to ski this season.

today I get half way there, lay out and pre-drill. I have a tap coming from Tognar in a day or two; waiting on that. mounting on the line. living what I have been saying about a daily driver buying these. picked them up out of the box and said: "they're heavy, really heavy, oh yeah!"

the tune was exquisite, as my preliminary inspection indicates, a nice polish on the edges, good angles. I'll check for consistency. The base is uber-flat, as flat as flat can be. heck yeah! Dynastar from Chamonix.

001 [800x600].JPGFor days, I would come home chanting my mantra: "big brown box, big brown box, big brown box..." and one day I ride my bike up to the front door, and there it is. oh, yeah!

The latest addition in the middle.  Undrilled 2006 dynastar legend 8000's.  $60+ shipping.

No picture yet, but my new Kastle BMX 108's (to replace my ObSETHed's which will show up in the classified after I have a chance to go get them ) just arrived at the Whistler Post Office, waiting to be picked up by my bud. Between my 4 pairs there, and his 6, we're in fairly good shape for the season - and he works all week so I have a choice of all 10 (isn't it nice when your bsl is the same as your friend's?).

BTW, those 8k's in the picture above were called "fiber". I always wanted to get a pair, but ended up with the red, retro ones.
