Can you do that type of biking on a bike with no suspension?

sure. there was a couple rigid bikes on that ride with us they were not decending as quick as my little group was. I do recommend huge tubeless tires if you go rigid and perferably steel, Ti or Carbon for a frame material.

 

Nothing wrong with a rigid bike, just realize that its going to take more skill to go much slower than a FS or even a hardtail.

 

I own one of these and run it rigid from time especially in the winter.

We didn't even have suspensions until the early 90's.  So yes.

I was in Aspen last weekend and there was still quite a bit of color in the valleys.  I was in Virgina this weekend and it had just started.
