Best Nightlife Resort

Hey guys!

We are 8 friends and we are planning our ski trip but we want to combine it with good nightlife. We want something which is a good value for money cause we don't want to spend a lot... I know that St. Anton is one of the top, but it seams to be expensive at last. I am searching a resort in Italy called Sauze D'Oulx which I heard that has plenty of nightlife and great skiing facilities. Has anybody been there? Does it have good nightlife? Any other proposals?

Every personal experience or something you can add would be really helpful for us guys!!

Thanks !!

John

Where are you coming from?  Why only Europe?

we will take the flight from Athens in Greece, and the flights are cheap for Europian destinations.. Especcially to Italy..!

From what I've heard, Sauze d'Oulx has a good nightlife. But, I get the impression that Ischgl is king of Europe when it comes to partying. (I don't really pay much attention to the nightlife, so I'm going on reviews from others.)

If you can get flights to Zurich for relatively cheap, you should be able to stay in St. Anton for a reasonable price. You can take the train from Zurich to the resort for about 100 CHF return, and there are B&B's and pensions at the edge of town that offer decent prices.

I'd say, Ischgl or St. Anton if you can find a good deal; Sauze d'Oulx is a good fall-back option. Most other resorts will either be more expensive or less interesting for your group.

I went to Iscghl last year. It was had a really good nightlife but it was a bit more expensive than I think Sauze de L'Oux should be. And I am talking about food, the ski passes, rentals and trasportation, rather than accommodation.. Thank you very much though for your help!!

Moved this to Eurozone where it may get more responses.

Isn't that Eurozone?

For food and drink, Italian resorts usually have the lowest prices. I'm not sure if any others have a bigger nightlife, so Sauze might be your best option.

There are a couple of other members here who know more about Italy, so they might have some more suggestions.

St. Anton has a pretty wild nightlife, housing can be expensive though. If you're used to a Greek price-level Austria will be more expensive.

Many years ago I skied in Livigno, Italy. Good nightlife and very cheap, It was a tax-free area then and I believe it still is. Getting there might be a problem. Getting to Courmayeur will be easier. I have not skied there myself, but from what friends have told me both skiing and nightlife are very good. Easily accessible from Geneva or Milan.

If the nightlife is more important than the skiing you can find many Italian resorts that will suit your needs. If skiing is your first priority it's difficult to find a [much] better resort than St. Anton and the Arlberg area in general.

St. Anton has world class apres ski but the nightlife leaves s.th. to be desired compared to Ischgl. Look into Sölden, Saalbach/Hinterglemm or Kitzbühel (pricey!) instead.
