Looking for a playful ski for this year

Currently skiing an Atomic savage Ti.  Enjoyed it last season, but want something more playful , skiing backwards, deeper snow, and steeper lines.  Skiing the canadian rockies this year. Lots of time at Revy, Whitewater, Fernie, and Banff area hills

 

Ski's looking at, Line Francis bacon, Volkl Gotama or Shiro, K2 obsethed or KF.  Or anything else.

 

Thoughts.

 

6'0 tall, 185 lbs.  Solid skier looking for steeper lines and bigger drops.

Hi, and Welcome to EpicSki!

 

Looking for a playful ski, hmmmm?  The skis you mention all have different feels to them.  The Goat and Shiro are substantial skis but not something that I'd describe as playful.  The Kung Fujas and Sir Francis have a better reputation for playful as do some other skis in the market today.

 

I'm not one who has skied these, but am going off feedback from my coworkers when we demo'd.

 

Hopefully, someone will see this thread who has personal experience.

I will add the DPS Wailer 112 to the list of big playful skis. If skiing switch and landing backwards..the Bentchetler.

Have you looked at the armada JJ maybe? Its on the short list of skis I'm looking at to fill out the fatter side of my 'quiver,' many of the reviews I've read about it say it is quick, agile, and playful.

The JJ is a fun and playful ski (I used it in a 185cm about 25 out of the 80 or so days I skied last year).  It will work great for you at Revy, Whitewater, Fernie, etc on snow days and the day after snow days.  It is good in soft bumps, trees, tight places,  Handles crud well.  It is a remarkably agile ski in deep powder, where is becomes most alive.  Front and back rocker allow for skiing switch.  But it only does OK on groomers, and is less fun on hard pack and hard bumps.  As always, there are tradeoffs for every ski choice.

Moment Night Train. Best ski out there. But if youre just looking at those listed than id say obsethed.
