Ski Jackets .. Burton AK Hover Vs Marmot Fulcrum Jacket ?

Hello all,

I am looking for a winter jacket and was wondering between the two of these. Both are Gore-Tex and both are top of the models of jackets. Can anybody recommend one over the other?

I already have some Burton Ak snowpants and the matching Burton jacket is $500. Now the Marmot is $400 full price and I can get it on sale for $300.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

I have the AK Hover. It is Gore-tex pro shell with 3 layer construction. The Jacket does not have inner lining. The actual inner lining is bonded to the shell. It is very light but tough. I am not familiar with Fulcrum jacket, but the material is lower cost when compared to Hover.

Thanks for the reply.

I think both jackets are very compatible however I ended up going with the Burton Hover as it was 3 layer vs the Marmot 2 layer. I tried the burton on and if fit pretty good so I am happy. Most expensive jacket I have bought by far so hopefully I notice the different compared to my 2 year old Columbia jacket.

You will!

I took a hiatus from the sport for many years and when I returned and discovered all the new soft wares technology, I was amazed.  The modern materials have the ability to help you self regulate your temp which adds significantly the enjoyment of skiing.
