Me: 55 yo, 6' 200lb, athletic, skiing for 50 yrs, 8+, 70% front side agressive/fast (for an old guy), side of trail/glades, 30% OP.

Ski Colorado: Breck, AB, Beav, Eldora

Legacy skiis: mostly K2s; Apache, Crossfire, Recon etc, some Volkl and Fischer, usually ski 180cm range. Have Gotamas (191) for pow, this is for groomers/crud/bumps/ice etc.

Tried the Rictor and liked it, but not sure about (forced) intiation of rocker, even though it was mild at 5%. Did like to damp feeling.

I've heard a lot of good about the Kastle MX78, and it precise feel. Couldn't get a hold of demos last yr.

I carve 60%, smear 40%

anybody else decide between these two? or give an opinion.....

Thanks

Matt

You are comparing a Honda Accord (with a stick & 6 cyl and sports suspension) with a Porsche 911 C2...there is NO  comparison. Like the Porsche, the Kastle doesn't like to be smeared and wants more precise input. If you are looking for a ski that is "playful" and 40% smeary..the K2 might be your choice. While the Kastle is a more precise instrument and that might not be what you are looking for.
