People Who Inspire!

I've become aware recently of two individuals who are doing some truly amazing things, and thought perhaps a thread along that line wouldn't be a bad idea. I hope others will contribute over time.

To get things rolling...

The ascent of Alex Honnold

Furthest Under Ice Swim - Wim Hof

I watched the show on Alex Honnold recently, I don't know if I am inspired or just scared for the guy.  I hope he quits before it's too late.  He is impressive though.

I am definitely not inspired by the Iceman, that just makes me shiver LOL.

Thanks,

JF

I hear ya, it's hard to watch what he's doing and not get weak knees and sweaty palms! To me it's kinda like can you plunk a 10' 2"x4" down on the floor and walk across it. Sure, no problem. Can you raise that 2' in the air, or even 10', and still walk it? Probably. Can you raise it to 100' up in the air, much less 2000'? ... Hey now...

His ability to focus on the task at hand, and ignore/filter out the "oh shit, what if?" thoughts to me is supremely impressive.

On another front this has been mentioned elsewhere on Epic previously, but the beauty and artistry of this guy's movement is worth another pointer...

Danny MacAskill - "Way Back Home"

Don't know if he's into snow sports at all, but if so I imagine he'd be pretty awesome in the park!

I, myself am a big fan of Alex Honnold. He was give the "Golden Piton" for his climbing achievements and has broken many speed records. It's amazing to see him move.

A friend posted this on FB the other day. Definitely stoke-worthy, whether it belongs in the bike thread or not.

I guess in a sense he's riding a jet ski, but still ... pretty damn wild/impressive!

And I have to wonder if he left any motorcycles down at the bottom of the sea?   ;-)

I thought the same thing. Kind of like snowmobiling on water; it's all fun and games till you lose momentum...

Also, salt water cannot be good for pretty much anything on a dirt bike.

If you've got 40 minutes to kill/spare you might find this video of Wim Hof interesting...
