No joke--my first negative buying experience on eBay was a pair of Shoguns whose bases were covered with a patchy layer of sticky residue that stank like spray furniture polish, which the seller apparently applied liberally to disguise the gouges in the bases. nonono2.gif It took a fair amount of wax remover to get that off, though I guess CitraSolv would have done the job in a pinch.

Johnson Paste Wax might have been a better choice; I've used it with success to make wood jigs and edge guides slick. icon14.gif
