Some bad news and some good news: http://tahoeweatherdiscussion.com/some-good-signs-for-the-second-half-of-december
It's going to suck until the second half of December, but sounds like it should get really good when winter actually starts.
All I hear around Tahoe is people complaining about the lack of snow in NOVEMBER. I have lived in Tahoe for somewhere around 15+ years and I would say only about half the time is there a decent snow pack to ski on around Turkey Day. Some of the biggest winters I have seen around here, except for last year it didn't start snowing until around Christmas. I have told more then one person, relax it will snow, it is Tahoe that is what it does around here in the winter.
I guess my point is this, while it was awesome to be skiing powder on Turkey Day last year. I took it for what it was, a gift from the snow gods, rather then the new norm of Tahoe skiing. Honestly, I will trade no snow in November for snow in January.
