Catunamunch, Yeah, I understand all that... but, no, it doesn't close anything if he's not centered in the boot as it already is. There's also the boot board, heel lifts, combinations of all to make things work. It's amazing how many times something that seems counter intuitive actually works. Found this out last season working with a very talented boot fitter.
So Noodler has at least 4 pairs of boots and needs something to scramble in. Maybe this is old skool, but why not grind down and install a vibram sole on one of the pairs of Heads if they're the one's that fit? This was pretty common among the big mountain crowd a few years back, and I'm sure a few still do this rather than ski a boot they don't really 'feel'. I can understand a pair for alpine, a pair for teley, and a pair for AT, but I can't imagine having to deal with the multiple variables in 3+ pairs of boots for alpine skiing. It seems like a pretty impossible quest. I don't know noodler's background at all, but it seems that all that money would be better spent with a boot fitter finding the right set up to begin with. Isn't cutting losses the whole purpose of E-Bay?
