Looking for a single ski

Thread Starter

Have you broken one of your skis and the other one is fine?  Must be pretty frustrating.  What are you going to do with that one good ski?

I am looking for a high performance all mountain ski between 75 mm and 85 mm in good condition to donate to a handicapped monoskier.  This ski, must be a flat ski without a binding plate or an integrated binding system because it needs to be mounted to a monoski chair.

Please help me keep this young man skiing.

Wow!!! Sorry, I totally forgot about length.  Length can be from 175 to 190.  He skis primarily on the East Coast.

Over at Tetongravity there is a single ski match-up thread.  Might be able to look back through some older posts to find guys who are giving up the search.

Sounds like a good thing to have here.

Thank you Philpug for the donation!

I will be working on making this a more consistent beyond just my one friend.  So if you have a single ski, please keep me in mind.

I must say, that having worked with mono-skiers, seen, and tuned skis for them, a "normal" ski is weak for them.  One of my friends got one called a Teleboard.  It's super fat, so he can lean the rig over farther without hitting.  Why not try to raise some money to get a ski like that.  He told me that no Mono-Skier had broken one yet.  I have not kept up with current advancements in the Mono-Ski deal, but I know there are a few people making huge bounds in all that is needed for a Mono-Skier.  Best to you, and good luck.

Here is a link to the Teleboard  http://www.teleboardusa.com/teleboarding.shtml

I will have it in my shop soon.  If you want to see the way it's set up, I could do a video for you.  This guy is big.  Maybe 175lbs.  Very agro on the rig.  He has modified the bindings.  I know some new company is making a new sled with a NO RELEASE binding.  I know that's what these folks need.  I'll look for the link on that.

Mmm.....I don't know if this FB link is going to work.  I'll try.

I hope this can help you more.  This is about the new company.  HOC2

Jacques,

Thanks for the video.  That looks like a heck of a ski.  My buddy has a monochair that requires the ski be directly attached to the chair.  There is no binding.

The teleboard looks cool.  I will look into this for him.

You are quite welcome.  The Mega II Bi- Skis I work on are like that.  They slide, and lock on.  Like I said, just trying to help anyone who is getting into it.  I put Carl's FB link at the video.  He would be happy to answer any questions about the set-up.  There is much to offer to Adaptive Skiers these days, but most do not have an unlimited budget!

Hi all:

I snapped one of my skis yesterday in a tangle with a USFS gate. Does anyone knew of additional websites where used gear is bought and sold?
