Hello! I am a 18 year old skier, who is currently in the process of deciding which skis to get for the new season. My old pair(Atomic Nomad's) did me well, but I'm not going off-piste alot and always in the deep powder, which the Nomad's just aren't meant for. I can only afford one pair of skis at the moment so I am looking for a more all-mountain/back country ski
I'm 6ft tall, 170pounds, average/athletic build.
I ski in in the west(BC/AB) resorts only.
I would say 70% of my time will be in the back country, deep powder, tree runs, going off drops and what not. 15% will be in the park/urban skiing(I live in the city so when I can't get out to the mountains I will probably mess around a bit doing rails and what not). 15% will be on the groomers(maybe a bit of bumps).
Money isn't really an issue but I sadly still can't get two skis.
My skill level is intermediate-advanced, but I learn pretty quickly and if I go a lot this winter, I should advance fairly quickly.
I really just need a great ski that can handle the deep pow but not too fat(in other words, hell bent, ARG, etc will be a bit too much). The skis should also be twin-tip as hopefully I would like to learn how to do a bit of tricks.
I'm looking at brands like Armada, K2, Surface but not exclusive to them, just what I've done the most research on so far.
Thank you very much for your opinion! And let me know if you have any further questions in the comments.
PS. If possible, which bindings would you recommend to go with the skis? Thank you!
