How do you store your skis?

I am looking for a freestanding storage for a single pair of skis. Any ideas?

Freestanding? Like, in the middle of the room?

My single ski storage system is called "In The Front Hall Closet".

Cheers!

That would be easy to make and screw/glue together with a few pieces of scrap wood for about $5

Freestanding as in not hanging on a wall. I checked out all the ones from cozy winter already they do not sell a freestanding rack for a single pair of skis. They all hold two or more pairs.
Thanks

My short ones lean against the wall in a closet. The long ones hang upside down from two clothes rods on opposite ends of the same closet.

They're leaning against the far wall of our walk-in closet.  So I see them every time I get my clothes - which is really a bad thing through the summer months.  Maybe I need to find a new location.

Mine lean in the corner of the garage.  Not recommended but they hide well, and the wife does not count them there!

Single pair freestanding ski holder idea.  How about a 6"-8" log round with a hole chain sawed through the middle?  Put the tails through the hole and there they stand.  Not such a good idea for twin tips, but a normal all mountain ski should work just fine.

The SkiLogics might get a place of honor like that.

A noose hanging from a light fixture?

I don't have a solution, but I am curious why you want to do this, rather than hang them on a wall or something?

The best places to store skis are behind curtains, under beds or on top of bookshelves, any place your spouse isn't likely to look and do the math.

Waxed leaning against the wall like so,

Many years ago, I used to put wood blocks between them at the bindings and have tips and tails touching base to base to preserve camber, but that was before many of the modern materials were incorporated into skis.

My approach is very similar to this one

Preserves camber, keeps them off the tails completely, and takes very little space.  Might flatten out the tips very slightly, but that is the least harmful side effect of all of the storage solutions I've tried over the years.  If I'm feeling extra motivated I'll put a thin cloth between the bases where they touch.

I put the brakes together and lean them standing up in the closet. I don't fuss much about it.
