Can't make text bigger anymore

Being a little bit visually impaired, I miss the ability to make the text bigger which was possible until recently.

Yeah, what happened with that? I logged on yesterday and it's tiny.

Can't you hold down the Cntrl key and spin the wheel on your mouse?  I can.

Press CTRL+PLUS (the += key) to make the text bigger, CTRL+MINUS, to make it smaller, CTRL+0 (zero) to go to default size.

Works in Firefox and (most?) other browsers.

Also, you can usually force a minimum font size. In Firefox:

Options: Content: Fonts: Advanced: Minimum Font Size.

FWIW, that doesn't work for me in Chrome on OSX.  On most websites, command+plus will do exactly what you described, the text gets bigger.  On epicski, it just increases all the whitespace around the text.  The text doesn't change at all.

Yes, that happens to me, too. Can't change the font, either -- it makes it bigger on other sites, but not this one.

Hmmm, I see that with Chrome...except when I type a reply, then the method I described works down in the Reply box, but not the other boxes.

Bring up your main browser menu and click "View" then look for a "Zoom In" option.

That does the same thing as command+plus, and doesn't work on this website in either Chrome or Safari (OS X).  It does work in Firefox (OS X).

Make it work with Safari.

Thank you.

Same problem here too--current Chrome and IE browsers tested. I've only seen this since this evening, and it is truly annoying, isn't it? EpicSki is the only site I've seen that has this problem. I can change the size of everything on the page as usual, it seems, except the type.

I assume this is a bug that will be repaired. I hope it will be repaired VERY soon!

Best regards,
Bob

Update-same problem on Safari, current edition.

It appears to be a Huddler glitch. Other Huddler forum sites I've checked have the same problem now. I assume that Huddler is on it--and I hope they're on it with a great sense of urgency. My screen is set to its highest resolution, which makes the text very small. Huddler's team should work through the weekend on this one. Let's hope!

Bob

OMG! I just invoked View Source on this forum, and it has the ugliest HTML I have ever seen! Not easy to debug.

By the way, the problem is also present on Windows with Chrome, so it's not just a Mac thing.

So, can't use Chrome and the latest update to FF just axed the Rich Text Editor.....OMG, I might have to use IE!!!!

This thread has been reported to Huddler.  Don't expect to know anything until at least Monday.

Thanks, Cirque! And thanks, Huddler team, for looking into this....

From Andy at Huddler:

There will be a minor update to the platform today to keep our Facebook Connect implementation up to date with some API changes coming down from Facebook.

We're also taking the opportunity to sneak out a fix for problems folks are having with zooming the page in the Chrome browser.

Thanks!

Sounds good, Cirquerider---looking forward to the fix.

I do hope Huddler is aware that the problem exists beyond just the Chrome browser. I have just tried Safari again, and the font-size problem is still there too. Interestingly, IE seems to work better now. I don't have a current version of Firefox, so I haven't checked that.

Best regards,
Bob

They were aware of Safari as well.  Of course they have an arsenal of Apple machines.rolleyes.gif

I'm running Safari/OSX and the font size seems to work.

Good point, Nolo. Anyone who wants me to read their posts should use a bigger font until this bug is fixed. :)

Oh, the zoom works for me too. redface.gif

Yep--all seems to be well now. Viewing fonts are once again resizable for me in Chrome, Safari, and Internet Explorer. Good job, Huddler--and thanks!

(Nolo--it was not about using different font sizes when composing a post, which was not a problem as far as I know. It was a problem with the type size on the page remaining fixed, even as you zoomed in and out and resized all of the other things on the screen. Moot point now, since it appears to have been fixed.)

Best regards,
Bob
