According to Unofficialnetworks, Jake Carpenter has been undergoing treatment for testicular cancer.

In the closing of his letter to his employees he types......

Quote:
The bad news is that I have cancer. The good news is that it is as curable as it gets.
<snip>
In the meantime, the best thing you can do for me is to keep kicking ass the way you have been.

Thoughts and prayers go out to him for a full recovery.

Fuck cancer.

Hope Jake gets better, he's right: testicular cancer is supposed to be one of the most curable types.

Might be Hodgekins....  very curable.  5 year prognosis is that 84% of patients with no complicating factors do not experience any progression of the disease

Well I truly hope this isn't the beginning of the end for Burton, They make such great boards I would hate for that to be it. Any thoughts on this?

Well if it's any comfort, its not stopping him from riding. He's already screwed up the RFID chip on his Stowe pass, and had to get a replacement one. Must mean he's out there on the mountain.
