Your first Porn?

Thread Starter

Another thread asking for Netflix recommendations for ski movies got me thinking about Warren Miller's Steep and Deep.  It was my first ski porn, I saw it in a theater while on a ski trip with the family, at about the age of 8.  It was like a light switch was flipped in my head, from that day forward I was obsessed with skiing.  I knew when I grew up, I would be just like Scott Schmidt!  Of course, when I watch it today it seems so cheesy, but it will always have a special place in my heart.  I still have my old worn out VHS, even though I don't even own a VCR anymore.

So, what was yours?

The Incredible Skis

Ski The Outer Limits

Mobius Flip

All available on DVD at you favorite ski museum.

I used to watch these at the inn I grew up in in NH. The ski reps would provide them to my dad to show the guests in the dining room. Classics.

It was a TV show on KING, channel 5 in Seattle.  The show was called "Ski Nanny" and was hosted by local cartoonist/weatherman Bob Cram.  It featured ski reports and Warren Miller clips as well as Cram's cartooning.  This was in the mid 1960s.  I remember laying in the hospital with a spiral of my tibia and fibula, (gained skiing) watching Ski Nanny and wishing I could be out there.  I was 12.
