September powder in Chamonix

Thought idris might have been along with the vid, but not yet so will put up some photos:


It's a rare chance I get to ski powder on my birthday (never happened in xx years so far) so Tuesday was not to be missed!! - 2 days of snow above 2000m, a blue sky forecast, and a motley crew of hardened ski addicts who don't care that it is only September...

Cedric, Martin & Tom in the bin - in spite of an early start from Bozel for me the '8:30 first bin' ended up running at 9:30a.m... oh the joys...:

It's the ridge, Jim, but not as we know it - proper knife edge on the arete today:

There had been plans for some Italian coffee for lunch, but with freshly wind-blown snow covering some large (& numerous) slots further down below the Col du Midi we decided to play it safe...
