100 mm brakes on 87 mm skis , too wide?

Thread Starter

Just bought some 185cm dynastar 6th sense distorter skis (87 mm width) with UNmounted 100 mm bindings. I will be doing roughly 65% downhill, 35% terrain park.

Will the brakes be too wide?

Mine will be in tomorrow.  I'll let you know how it looks.

Will be a great fit. I just mounted a pair of Tyrolia Bindings with 97mm brakes on a pair of Movement Jams Waist 85mm. Most race skis have a 66mm waist and standard brakes for them are 78mm.

^That Race Ski reference is a good point

Sorry if this is a hijack.....

Need  a binding for my 4Frnt Turbo's....skis are 104mm underfoot....will a 120mm brake be OK?

Thanks,

See I think in that case I'd use a 100mm and stretch each leg out the extra 2mm required to fit the ski.  I dont like having the big elbows hanging over the sides on a really wide brake.  That's just me.
