I ski roughly 20 times a year, trees/steeps ect. I live in NJ and don't get to ski much.
25 years old, played ice hockey and baseball growing up, athletics comes naturally. If it was my first time out for the season, it would take me a half an hour to get my legs back under me and on a black diamond.
I work out 3-4 days a week, start of with the elyptical and continue with weights (I do not use weights for my legs). I consider myself to have strong hamstrings/groin/calve and quads.
The problem I have every season is my quads just do not hold up on the slopes. Halfway down a mountain or in middle of a glades trail I frequently stop to let the burning subside. I do ski pretty hard, but it still takes the fun out of it.
It has been suggested that my problem could be binding/boot related, and not training related. I currently ski Line Prophet Flite with Saloman sth12 bindings, and Nordica BSX boots. I am looking into buying marker griffons as a replacement.
I was wondering if anyone could look into whether this could be an equipment problem, or if the built in delta would not effect this problem.
