I found a pair of skis brand new. They are Salomon K2's.(made in USA). I was told that K2 is a seperate company now.  Does anyone know when this division was sold(I was told to the Chinese) or did Salomon make a type of ski known as the K2 but no longer makes

amaski, please post a picture.

Is it possible that it says K2 on the skis, but Salomon on the bindings?

Got a picture?

K2 and Salomon always were separate companies, as far as I can recall.

It's possible Salomon made a ski they called the K2. I've not been familiar with their product line since they expanded out of specializing in bindings.

K2 is based in the State of Washington, but produces skis in China. It is part of a big American sports company. Salomon is owned by a sports outfit in Finland, I believe.

Considering the intellectual property lawsuit history between those two companies, it is highly unlikely.

Dude you called it.  Thanks. The skis actually say K2 Made in USA.  So they're probably vintage. Any idea when they stopped making them in the USA

Definitely older than 2007, and probably as vintage as ~2000.    Is there a model name or a pic you can post?
