Had previously posted about an East Coast ski recommendation, though after more research, a subscription to realskiers.com and other ponderings, have shortlisted to
- Dynastar Contact 4x4
- Volkl AC30
- Blizzard 8.1 (maybe a 7.6?)
I currently own some ragged Rossi Edge 180cm skis and only started last year but took some lessons and became addicted. I am (I think) a level 7 (no probs on the blacks), 220 lbs, 6' 2" and will be skiing New England (aka mostly CT) and am looking for something that will rip groomers, allow some off-piste, allow me to fine tune my carving, and will be generally stable at high(ish) speeds. Also looking to get better (read--survive on) bumps.
I will be buying used, so not possible to demo, and would greatly appreciate your input on the above 3. I am dying to hit the slopes again, and have been researching as a substitute until then ;)
Also curious on length--my guess is I should be above 175cm., but would appreciate input there, as well...
I was set on the Volkls until I read some more and saw reviews on them as a one trick pony or 'too much ski' from some of the shops I spoke with. At this point I have analysis paralysis, so really seeking some advice from those who have skiied on the above....
