Ski Size differential

167 to 176cm seems like a big size differential. Was looking at the Fischer Watea 84's and wondering why it seems that the two consecutive sizes available were so disparate. 9cm size differential seems big. Do these Fichers ski long or short? My last ski's were 172cm. What would be the comparative size for the Watea's?

each 10cm length has a broad performance range on most current skis, so 5cm sizing is redundant. my deduction based on owning skis 10cm apart. most people could be happy with either of two sizes, given each size would carry certain advantages.

What's your height and weight?

I agree that 8-9 cm is not that great on today's skis. If your perfect size is in the middle then shorter is a little quicker and longer is a little faster. I agree most skiers in the middle would be happya with ether ski but you know your style so you know which way to go.

It's not that the ski will go faster, it's that you will feel more secure skiing faster and the ski will 'stay on line' better. Otherwise this is an excellent description of how two sizes will differ but can still be the 'correct' size for someone.
