Hey there fellas / madams,
I'd be super stoked if you could help me out with ski question / recommendation.
I'm wanting to hear some opinions on what you believe to be the perfect PNW tree and backcountry ski on the market.
Essentially, I'm looking for something that's light, fat and turns on a dime. I rode the ON3P Wrenegades last season, and had a blast. But @ 191cm (more like 194 and pretty beefy), I often found it difficult to shred the trees at my home mountains of Whistler-Blackholm. They're incredible for certain types of skiing, just not ideal for hucking backcountry gnar.... I really think a shorter, lighter and more turnable ski would allow me enjoy the trees a bit better, and might even end up saving my knees.
I've narrowed my search to the following:
Solomon Rocker II - 184cm (142-122-132) - rode these last season as a demo... unbelievable.
ON3P - Billy Goat - 186cm (140-116-125) - tons of hype and positive feedback around these skis
ON3P - Calor - lite version - 181cm (148-120-140) - the lite, 181cm version brings it into the equation... and they have a wicked topsheet
K2 Pon2oon - 189cm (159-134-124) (or the Hellbent) - Just heard these are really easy to turn over, despite the dimensions
Armada JJ - 185cm (131-141-120-138-128)
Atomic Bent Chetler - 183cm (142-123-134)
Appreciate any responses.
