Epic Mix Photo

This is a pretty clever adaption of the Vail Epic Mix tracking system...

Too bad they can't somehow pick up / scan the skier's pass from a distance with some kind of long-range scan gun so the photographers could actually take cool action photos on the mountain where you don't have to ski up to them and get scanned.  It's a neat step in that direction, but I'm guessing most of the photos will end up being just posing photos for the tourists to buy.  Still, interesting concept.

I saw that, pretty interesting..and a lot of fun. I am guessing they will get the Epic readers into Northstar for this season then.

They mentioned that they were adding them when outlining the improvements for 11/12.  Also interesting to see that *all* lift tickets will have an RFID chip in them, which I think is a smart move.

The distance thing is tough to deal with and the last thing you want to do is stop and take time out of your day. Check out Feral Motion, with their stuff you can fly by at distance, up to a football field away in some cases, without having to check in and all your footage is online later waiting for you to view. Did I mention they do video and not photo's?
