Boot design changes since 07?

Hi all, this isn't a boot fitting question, but rather about how much designs may have changed over the last few years.

I currently ski in Tecnica explosion 8 shells (later model, around '99, with square buckles) with liners that date back to earlier 90s TNT AVS (TNT shell broke, I sent them in for warranty evaluation and Tecnica sent me new shells, on them, great service).  You can imagine, liners are completely packed out; shells in pretty good shape (the package still skis pretty well, tho...)

3 Options - I'm torn between new Intuition liners for the old shells, a bargain price (~300) for new-old-stock Tecnica Diablo Magmas from 07 through Sierra Trading Post, or biting the bullet on brand new boots (for ex. Lange RX130).  The cost of brand new boots would mean that I would not do it this year and would ski in my old boots for at least another season.

So - how much has design of boots evolved since 2007?  Given that the NOS Tecnicas are only ~$100 more than Intuition liners, that seems a good value proposition (let's ignore fit questions here; assume I'll get fitting help locally if needed).  BUT would it be worth skipping to the newest generation boots, if that means skiing in my old ones for another year or more?

Any help you can offer greatly appreciated, and thank you!

try on some boots (or order and be able to return them)  and see if the differeance in fit is worth it to you.  Desgin has changed, but again see if you like the new ideas, shape, fit, angles.

In summery   maybe
