Praxis 2012 Preseason Sale + Discount Code

Keith has the Praxis 2012s up & on preseason sale. He asked me to mention he's also fired up some 10% off coupon codes for the usual suspects - including the epic community. Use code "EPIC" for 10% off the price listed on the site (including sale prices). I believe the code will work all season, but obviously preseason sale prices will not last too much longer.

Skis are up on the Praxis website.

I've become a bigger and bigger fan of Praxis skis as time has gone on. I like Keith's designs. And the construction is super solid - definitely the most durable skis I've owned.

Since visual aids are fun - I snagged a FB posted shot of the new Protests on the production line...

Early last season at the snowbowl, a friend and I were skiing 10" of new fluff over dirt, grass and rock.  Similarly large skiers, he on his Praxis and me on my Scotts.  Same terrain, nearly the same lines.  When we were done, my Scotts needed 3 core shot repairs and some lengthy p-tex lovin.  His Praxis?  Nothing to bother filling.  I now own two pair of Praxis skis, and <3 them both.

Go buy Keith's skis. Really.

Any insight as to why they weren't included in Powder Mag?

It's b/c potential buyers were frightenied off by the Concept topsheet.  C'mon Praxis, you have some of the coolest skis (and topsheets) around...but the one I want, has the possibly worst topsheet ever. (The RX and Jib have some of the coolest topsheets...so I'm not just hatin on Praxis).

I guess you didn't see some of the other topsheets in their mag?

I will say that IMO, the Concepts look a lot better in person than they do in the picture on their website.  It's still not my favorite design ever, but the picture doesn't do it justice at all.  At the end of the day though, I didn't buy 'em 'cause of the way they look.

The new graphics on the Powders look pretty sweet, I think.  And I'm very curious to see what the graphics on the BPS look like.  I browsed some of the artist's work who's doing the graphics, and I like her style.

I'm pretty sure that's a pay to be featured setup. They didn't pay to have their skis tested, so they weren't included.

I noticed H20 Gear skis were included though (http://alaskahelicopterskiing.com/skis.html)

Recognize the Signature ski? Was made by Praxis last year... maybe it still is but rebranded?

Tempted to pick up the BPS this season, either that or the Protest. Hard choice. :)

I think you are right, sort of an advertising buy.  Heard 5Gs.

Lots of happiness & stoke on the Praxis FaceBook Page today with Praxis' Kevin O'Meara making it to the podium in yesterday's Freeskiing World Tour Chilean comp. Pretty sure he's the only guy on the podium catching a flight home to go build more skis! smile.gif

Overall finals video - clearly not ideal conditions:

Speaking of the Praxis FB page - looks like this is the Rachel Znerold  BPS topsheet art. I'm stoked.

The Concept is apparently now available in elegant plain black.

That said, I love the standard Concept topsheet a ton. And some of the other new Praxis ones I posted in this thread are among my all time favorites. Not that I tend to buy - or not buy -  skis due to their topsheets, but it is always nice when you like the top sheets on skis you are buying...

Honestly, I probably would have bought my concepts in solid black given the option.  However, as you said, I didn't buy them for their looks.

Just pulled the trigger on 184 Freerides!  Mounting NTN tele.  They should complement the DPS Wailer 112s pretty well.

Nice ESPN piece on Kevin O'Meara, Praxis skier, Praxis ski builder and Keith's cousin, returning to the comp scene this year: http://espn.go.com/action/freeskiing/story/_/id/6967158/kevin-omeara  Probably worth noting that Drew Tabke, last year's Freeskiing World Tour champion, also skis on Praxis. Good to see the crew from the "little guy" making it happen and getting some press!

A bit of searching turned up a nice helmet cam video from the Chile comp. I'm pretty sure it corresponds to Kevin's segment at about 6:10 in the comp video I posted earlier in the thread...

The BPS is my new ski. Already on order. Gonna be sick! I have ridden Praxis skis since the first camo top sheet 185cm powder boards, still ride them early season. I have landing on rocks from various heights, tried to turn across boney lighttower steeps and even skied into the parking lot. Only one core shot from a shark up on Expershort Cut at Squawpine a few years ago. Well deserved for sure.

Yes, get some Praxis Skis. They are the best.
