Hello again to all - this is John Springer-Miller, Chairman of KneeBinding, Inc.
I have previously posted some factual information here about our bindings. My goal has been to clarify what we do, and why we do it. In the interim, we have heard from many of you, individually, through our website, through e-mail and even by phone. These discussions have been valuable. Please keep the feedback coming.
KneeBinding’s mission is to make the sport safer without compromising performance. The company came into being specifically because the knee injury rate has become such an epidemic, and because none of the other binding companies have done ANYTHING about it for thirty years.
Please take a look at some of our latest material. The link below launches a video featuring Alex Levin – the Captain of the University of Vermont Freestyle Team - who ALMOST got hurt, but didn’t because of KneeBindings. And there are other videos, including one that demonstrates why other brands of bindings DON’T release under a lateral force, while KneeBindings do.
By the way – we just won a “Fantasy Draft Skier’s Choice” award from Powder Magazine for 2012. Their top testers get to select their favorite equipment, and we were chosen. Here’s what Powder’s Hans Ludwig said:
“After skiing the binding on rock-hard and variable snow on a stiff, carving ski, I can say that as far as ski function goes, this thing is legit. There is no slop in the system, and it feels like a true performance binding underfoot. Even with a relatively low DIN setting, hard snow, and flat light, I had no pre-releases, boot movement, or any other undesirable sensations. It makes sense to try to protect yourself against the heartbreak of knee surgery, and the boot-to-ski connection feels as good as any alpine binding made.”
Again, we look forward to all of your feedback.
