Bathroom?  Dining room with family discussion! And sunglasses for all the paint jobs.

I slept with it under my pillow last night.

Warning: Old-school curmudgeon rant:

Been getting Powder Mag since the 70's, and the equipment issue was always saved as a real buyer's guide tool because it gave technical info that allowed you to understand how the ski would work, and compare it to others. Unfortunately, for the last dozen years or so the Buyer's Guide has become pretty much of a joke, with manufacturer's quips about the skis ("the rep rap"), or some lame attempt at comparison by "expert reviewers" that almost never tells you anything really useful.  The only letter I have written to Powder in 30 years was to accuse them of not actually skiing the skis before writing their "reviews."

I haven't seen this year's guide yet, but I'll bet money the pictures of the skis take up more page space than the "reviews."  Gee, I'm really excited about this year's new graphics! rolleyes.gif

You are doing it wrong... You won't find owder by putting a magazine under your pillow.  head west, head north, heck -- head to south America -- but go. The powder is out there for the taking. GO!!!!

The reason I stopped posting TRs is because its not a trip for me, its every day life and I don't want to stop to shoot photos.

Here we go again!  :)  This conversation always makes me laugh.  Some are not happy when there are reviews, so are not happy when they have reviews b/c they suck.  Some don't like it if the reviews bash a ski they like.  Some don't like it if they don't have something to bitch about!  ski.gif

It's interesting to look at all the offerings ( I flipped through Powder last night ) but I guess you just have to get out there and try everything for yourself to figure out what you like.

Same format from last year.  Testing was done at JH. They do a decent job overall. Yeah, they do make thier money on advertising..... but come on' we all know the game so oogle over the pictures, snicker at some of the rediculous graphics (especially the Heads) and check out some of the good articles and pictures. Far more stoke there than ski /skiing. BTW- they loved the DPS 112rp so I have to be nice.....  biggrin.gif
