Painting the Red Chair at Magic Mountain

Haven't posted updates here in a while but for those who don't know, we held a fundraiser to paint the red chair.  Follow the whole story at http://www.savemagicvermont.com/.

Sorry for the shameless plug but many of you came to Magic this year and we want to keep you in the loop!  Keep spreading the word it is working!

Looking pretty sweet!!

It's funny how a small thing like the Red Chair getting painted is exciting.  Magic keeps it simple.  While others are adding high-speed this & that, they just paint.  Love it.

If it ain't broke- Don't fix it!  I think it's exciting too, especially seeing as how it wasn't the mountain that paid for it- it was the skiers who ride it that ponied up the dough to make it happen.  I think there would be a riot if someone tried to tear down the red chair, as it is certainly a VT staple- not quite as epic as the MRG single, but still...  It never closes for wind, is now super reliable and will even look great for years.  Huge thanks to the Save Magic crew for all their hard work and great thinking.  You guys are awesome!

Thanks for the kind words DoWork.  We're just doing what we can to help out.  I am so proud of the Magic faithful for getting this done.  Means the world to me.  Sorry to get all sappy but I really don't care, thank you all.  I never imagined a group pulling together like this.

Yup...stoked.  Just bought my pass for this year.  Still can't swing buying a share of the mountain with 3 in college but I will do my best to contribute to the local economy, especially in Goniff's Den.  Can't do the volunteer day on 9/24 (going to Yankees-Red Sox in NYC) but will def be there for the 2 Saturdays in October.  Come on up and make the best ski area in the Northeast even better!
