FYI, you should post this in the Eurozone folder as well. Double the chances of finding a buddy.

If you can't find a buddy, consider going on a classic Brit chalet holiday (assuming you're going through the UK anyway). May have to pay a single supplement, but you'll meet people, have people to ski with, and food, board, flights, transfers and booze included.

There are plenty of chalet companies at a variety of price points, though Val d'Isere isn't ever really cheap. However, if I guess from your moniker you're an Aussie then you are paying in one of the world's strongest currencies!

It's been a while since I've skied Val (though I've spent a few Novembers recently on the glacier at Tignes) but it's one of my favourite places in the world to ski. If I go, I use YSE (www.yseski.co.uk) who have never let me or my friends down.

If you do find a buddy, have a load of fun - it's a brilliant place to ski, and they do, indeed, know how to party!

Tignes is geographicly very close to Val d'Isere and the public bus system shuttles people back and forth between the two. Tignes has great skiing. The night life is more subdued, but lodging is probably cheaper.

If your looking to ski l'espace killy then you might be better staying in Tignes.  It's slightly higher and has a better chance of snow for later in the season.  The lift pass will  also cover you to ski in Val. It's not as pretty as Val but then Val isn't that pretty.  It's also a little cheaper, but not by much.  That said, partying is prob's better in Val, if you can afford it.

If your prepared to suffer and ski with a load of Brits' then you might have some joy listing on this thread http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewforum.php?f=19  There's nothing listed for Val D'Isere yet, but it's still early days for some.  The forum itself organises gatherings which are well attended.  There is one for March (but not Val D'isere)  see hear http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=75848 or have a look at some of the other events / gatherings which might be of interest http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewforum.php?f=31

However you get there have fun
