Lange RX 130 Pro 2012 - Reviews?

Hi,

I'm currently skiing with Lange WS130, non-race version boots which are approx. 5yrs old.  I ski mostly on blacks and double blacks in the East. Ski mostly in trees, crud, powder, bumps in all sorts of conditions. No racing.  I'm looking at the latest Lange boots for 2012 and see they have revised the RX 130's.  I take it that this boot has replaced the older Banshees.  Wondering how this boot stacks up against my older WC 130's?  Concerned about the more stand up stance (less forward lean) and the quality of the liner.

thank.

The liners are dramatically better than previous Lange boots, the more upright stance is going to be a personal thing. Most find it to be better.

RS130-Blue

RX130 Pro-Green (w/ replaceable soles).

Fit is different than your older Langes and longer inside. Just because you fit into a Lange 5 years ago, does not mean you will now. Do not limit your options, almost every boot last is different than they were 5 years ago.

Thanks for the feedback.  Finaly had a chance to try on the RX130.  They fit amazing!  Great heel hold.  Looks like I'm going to pull the trigger on these.

Question: Any recommendation for a footbed?  I have gone with custom FB's in the past and fully understand how they help out.

If you have a custom footbed, why do you need another one?  Jim S. at the Starthaus looked at mine (about 10 years old now) and said it was still fine.  He just interfaced them into my RX-130s.  I never thought he would put me in a Lange!  I never thought I would fit.

^ as stated above but it seems like you understand boot fit so look at it as more of the whole enchilada. does the boot fit? are you aligned? if yes, you're good to go. Unless that fb is just worn out or it was not built correctly to begin with, you will be fine.thats the job of your fitter to help assess the FB.  FWIW- I love my 130's they are fantastic boots

My FB is about 4yrs old, Superfeet Korx. I'm just expecting the boot fitter will want to get me into a new one.  But great idea to have them check it first.  On the other hand, wifey's about 11-12 yrs old, same FB as me.  I find the Korx start to round out at the bottom, not retaining it's flat orginal form.  I'm sure that has it's issues.  Maybe this can be fixed?

thanks,

Brian

I had my Surefoot version of the Lange RX 130 fit about two weeks ago. I have skied a variety of boots over the past 20 yrs at 100+ days a year. I am very thankful for the 100mm last of the current boot. There was no need for me to grind or punch, etc.

he Stock liner was a very good improvement over my previous Lange liner, but I went with the new X2 foam liner from Surefoot, it is fantastic.

Snowpro,

I see you also skieed a Nordica Speedmachine 14 in the past.  How does this boot compare to the RX 130?  I just retired my Speedmachine 14's (original year) and Jim S. at Start Haus put me in the RX-130.  I plan to be skiing it over Thanksgivving.  I am a bit smaller at 5'7" and 163 lbs.
