Looking for new Skis - Like the Salomon Lord - Options?

Thread Starter

Hi everyone,

I am looking for a new pair of skis after having a pair of straight elan 210cm for about the last decade and a half.  I live in the midwest and dont ski too often, but am looking to spend at least a weekend a year in Colorado.  I like to ski trees, groomers, and powder.

Last year when i went out I demoed Salomon Lords and obviously they were a HUGE upgrade over the skis I own now.

Given how little I ski, I am looking at keeping the cost down to a minimum.  I am having a hard time finding the deal I am looking for on a pair of lords (would consider demos) and was hoping others might be able to share other all mountain skis, similar to the lords, that may work for me.

I am 6 foot 200 pounds.

Thanks for your help!

IMO you do one of two things, you seek out a pair of Lords since you demoed them and liked them. Or you get fifteen opinions which all will be experienced opinions, and will probably get confused. Another thing, you will have whatever ski you buy for a while so do not let like $50-$75 sway your decision. Happy buying,  Dave

I have the lords. Good all around ski. But the tails are delamnating after 1 season which is a bummer. Other than that I thought they were a great ski.

I know someone that has a pair that they are trying to get rid of.  Basicaly skied on one trip to Chile.  I'll PM you.

I'm actually looking for some Czars if your buddy still has them?

I like the Lords, but I found the Czars a bit too fat for everyday use.
