is this the perfect boot?

I have a habit of gear finding it's way to me.  My wife refers to is as the "large boxes arrive on our doorstep issue"beercheer.gif  Sometimes I get paid in gear.  Sometimes I swap /barter for gear & sometimes I just end up w/ stuff that falls off trucks somewhere.

While this source of these is not going to be disclosed, I ended up w/ a pair of the Scarpa TX Comps.  Now I know this is not Telemarktips.com, yet hear me out.

This boot is pebax, way softer wrapping & better fitting.  Has is hot foamy liner & you can but another when this one dies w/o needing to bust into the factory.  There is a vibram sole & booster strap.  There is no duckbill on these nor the crappy ski / walk mechanism on so many AT boots.  You can tele via the NTN system (& btw, you can swap your NTN binding b/w skis w/ a $50 kit), you can AT w/ em, & they will fit a Duke!!!!

You can drive to the mtn, go grocery shopping in them & don crampons for climbing!yahoo.gif

Plus, they look to be an awesome ski boot....thoughts?

I'm putting this up bc I am either going to loose all my other boots or face plant w/ these.  '12 will see.

Is the bellows flexible enough to pre-release from a Duke?

Just so you know, the 2011-12 model will have a walk mode.  But it's supposed to be awesomely tough.  biggrin.gif

Also, Scarpa recommends against using it in alpine bindings (other than tech, aka Dynafit) on accounta the flexy bellows compromises the release values as does the non-DIN sole.

But you're right that it's an awesome boot.  wink.gif
