I usually dry my boots with a boot warmer after skiing, it can heat the boots at about 50-60℃. Now I had made my first pair custom footbeds from sidas, so I'm not sure if I can still use the boot warmer to dry the boots. Can the footbeds change it's shape by heating?
custom footbeds, can I dry them with boot warmer?
it depends on the dryer you are using.... 50-60 degrees may not give an immediate change but over time will affect the shape of the product...they are moulded with heat and they can change with heat...best thing to use is one of the in boot dryers form thermic or hot tronic that blow air through the boot or just produce ambient heat enough to get rid of the moisture, or there are companies who make packets of silica gel crystals that are pretty effective at getting rid of any moisture in the boot
i would certainly be very wary of any big commercial dryer like you might find in a hotel or chalet boot room
we have loads of clients use absorbaballs (uk version) with good success no vacuum required
